‘Ring Steel for Freedom’ a resounding success

At GRNC’s “Ring Steel for Freedom” event on April 9, a good time was had by all. The steel plate match, BBQ and candidate forum all came off without a hitch. Below you will find links to photos and videos of the event.

Thanks to Hyatt

GRNC wishes to thank Larry Hyatt of Hyatt Guns in Charlotte for donating the use of his superb facility, Hyatt Farms Shooting Complex, in Polkton. Not only is the facility first class, with multiple shooting ranges for pistol, rifle and shotgun, but the staff was highly organized and professional. Similarly, Hyatt Farms’ BBQ was delicious and the catering crew who presented it were friendly and welcoming. Larry has been a stalwart GRNC supporter and sponsor for nearly three decades, and gun owners should patronize Hyatt and other merchants who support their rights.

Thanks to Ted Budd

GRNC also wishes to thank Congressman Ted Budd who, in light of the rally later in the day at which Donald Trump endorsed him in his bid for the US Senate, could have cancelled but did not, demonstrating clear loyalty to Second Amendment organizations. As Budd noted in remarks to the audience, he joined GRNC as a Life member long before deciding to run for Congress. As you will see in the event videos, Congressman Budd is also quite capable with a handgun.

Thanks to other candidates & VIPs

GRNC also wishes to thank Congressman Dan Bishop, NC Supreme Court candidates Richard Dietz, Trey Allen and April Wood, Court of Appeals candidate Michael Stading, and GOA director Erich Pratt, all of whom were enthusiastically greeted by attendees during the candidate forum portion of the event.

Match results

Best overall time was by Denis O. who, shooting a Production gun, beat everyone else (including an Open gun) by five seconds or more. Winner of the drawing for those who beat GRNC president Paul Valone in the match was Dick S.

Production class was won by Denis O. with Jordan S. and Rodney R. in second and third places. In rimfire pistol, the winner was Ashley K., followed by Bruce H. and John H. In single stack, the winner was Felix D., followed by Chris V. and Dave P.
