Kernersville to Make Park Signs Legal

You can read the Kernersville News article HERE

One year later, has Sandy Hook changed America's gun debate?

... Many states even went in the opposite direction and passed laws expanding gun rights.

In short, one of the nation’s most horrific mass shootings hasn’t produced meaningful change on the national level one year later.

. . .

In North Carolina, gun owners can now carry concealed firearms in local parks, playgrounds, bars, restaurants and in locked compartments of vehicles on campuses.

“It’s probably the largest advance we’ve made in the history of the state,” said Paul Valone, the founder and president of Grass Roots North Carolina, a powerful gun rights group in the state.

Valone said if anything, his organization has been even more active since Sandy Hook courting gun owners, encouraging them to vote and threatening politicians who don’t support their position.“We will not compromise on gun control,” he said. “I’ll hold any legislator’s feet to the fire.”

Gun Advocacy Group Turns Focus To 'No Gun' Restaurants

GRNC is listing on its website restaurants that post these no guns signs. The group doesn’t want gun owners to patronize these restaurants. But don’t call it a boycott, says GRNC president Paul Valone.

Hartzler: If you have a sidearm on you, and someone comes in and clubs you over the back with a beer bottle and takes your weapon, then I’ve got a problem. So you are bringing your own demise into the building.

Kevin: Hartzler says Grass Roots North Carolina isn’t affecting his business. But the group is taking credit for at least nine other businesses that have taken down their signs after being listed on its website. Those, which include three  Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants, are under the heading “Welcome Back.”
