By way of its Twitter feed, executives at Dick's Sporting Goods (and Field & Stream) have now officially called for full-blown gun control. Dick's list of demands reads like a wish list from Michael Bloomberg himself. Note that the tweet below specifically calls upon elected officials to enact "common sense gun reform." Dear Ms. Hobart and Mr. Stack:
"Not a dime for Dick's!"
This is the mantra that now immediately crosses my mind whenever I see a Dick's Sporting Goods or a Field & Stream store.
You see, I am just the type of person who shops at sporting goods stores, and I’ve just learned of your corporation's statements regarding firearms. You have already refused to sell guns to certain law-abiding adults, but much worse, you are now actively lobbying for lawmakers to impose gun control on the citizenry. I'm incensed.
Your public call for action on this matter is horrifying: "Ban 'Assault-style' firearms, raise the minimum age for firearm purchases, banning private sales, and the list goes on. It reads like a wish list for every genuine and want-to-be dictator around the globe.
Be advised: Your company has forced my hand with its outright call for gun control. I will not spend a dime at your stores, and I will advise others to do the same.
I will be monitoring your company’s actions on this matter through alerts from Grass Roots North Carolina.
