Defense Free Zones Shot Down In Pitt County & Person County

For Pitt County

Board of commissioners vote to lift concealed carry restrictions on county property . . .

Grass Roots North Carolina also wants to thank the Person County Board of Commissioners who voted on November 16, to repeal a 1995 ordinance that banned CHP holders from carrying a gun on county property. This vote will allow citizens and employees with concealed handgun permits to bring their guns on county-owned property. Final passage of this repeal is subject to a required second vote, which will take place on December 7th at the Person County Board of Commissioners meeting and if it passes county owned properties will no longer be gun-free zones.

Kudos and congratulations also go out to the board members who voted for this change and by doing so, did their part to help citizens and employees protect themselves and their families. Doing the right thing isn’t always the easy thing, but they did it, and the commission ought to be recognized for it.

DELIVER THIS MESSAGE

Suggested Subject:

Thank You for Lifting Restrictions on Concealed Carry!”

Dear Pitt County Commissioners:

I am writing to thank you for voting to free citizens and county employees with concealed handgun permits to legally protect themselves and their families on county property. Those of you who voted for this change are to be commended for your recognition and support of Second Amendment principles.

I hope the commissioners who did not vote for this positive change will find the wisdom to change their position before the December 7th meeting. Time and time again we see that so-called “gun-free zones” are both ineffective and terribly dangerous. These gun-free zones are also an affront to law-abiding citizens, who ought to be able to exercise their Natural rights on the very property that, as taxpayers, they own and maintain.

Thank you once again for your common sense vote, on November 16, to restore and protect the rights of Pitt County citizens. I strongly encourage you to solidify this change with your final vote at the commission’s upcoming meeting.

I will be monitoring you actions on this issue through alerts from Grass Roots North Carolina.

Respectfully,

For Person  County
