PUSHING BACK ON THE ASSAULT

ON FREEDOM

FROM THE ANTI-LIBERTY LEFT

Despite the incessant assault on our civil rights from the anti-liberty leftists and their allies in Bloomberg's anti-freedom lobby, we ARE fighting back.

You can and should be part of our push-back. We want you to call and support our pro-liberty legislation. Your calls and email REALLY count against the efforts of the Leftists who are vigorously opposing these pro-freedom Bills:

First up, the 2nd Amendment Protection Act. HB 134:
HB 134 for concealed carry in religious institutions which sponsor schools passed the Judiciary IV Committee yesterday, with Reps. Jeffrey McNeely (R-Iredell), Keith Kidwell (R-Beaufort, Craven) and Jay Adams (R-Catawba)  speaking eloquently in defense of the bill. Vocal opponents of allowing congregations to defend themselves against violent sociopaths included Reps. Mary Belk (D-Mecklenburg) and Brandon Lofton (D-Mecklenburg). GRNC president Paul Valone addressed the committee to express GRNC’s strong support for the bill, noting that it would deter violent sociopaths from increasingly common attacks on religious institutions. The bill today passed the Second and Third readings. The Senate passed an identical bill in S43, meaning that it could soon head for Governor Roy Cooper’s desk.

Additionally, HB49, sponsored by Reps. Cleveland, Warren, Adams, and Clampitt eases the burden of renewing concealed handgun permits.  This bill passed the House Rules Committee and headed to the House floor, where it passed in a vote of 79 to 41.

HOUSE BILL 200
This is an act to remove the requirement to renew concealed handgun permits.
Sponsors: Representatives Adams, Bumgardner, Hanig, and Willis (Primary Sponsors)

A Pro-freedom bill to establish Constitutional Carry HB 197:
This bill sponsored by Reps. Kidwell, Hanig, Goodwin, and Setzer is Constitutional Carry and preserves your right to bear arms, whether openly or concealed, into the NC Constitution.  This would effectively remove the requirement for a concealed carry permit in order for a citizen in good standing to be able to protect him or herself.

HOUSE BILL 254
Const. Amend./Concealed Carry.
Representatives Pittman and Kidwell (Primary Sponsors).
This is an act to equalize open carry and concealed carry of defensive weapons by removing the prohibition of concealed carry and to uphold the right to keep and bear arms for self-defense.

Second Amendment Preservation Act. HB189
Sponsors: Representatives Kidwell, Hanig, Goodwin, and Adams (Primary Sponsors).
Prohibits the enforcement of certain federal firearms regulations:
Taxes, levies or fees imposed on firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition
Registration or tracking of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition
Acts forbidding the possession, ownership, use, or transfer of a firearm or ammunition
Acts ordering the confiscation of firearms

Kudos to the sponsoring Representatives for these bills for protecting our Second Amendment rights and our God-given right to self-defense!  Please contact your Representative and urge them to support these important bills!

Suggested Subject: "Support pro-liberty legislation"

Dear Legislator:

I’m writing to you today to encourage you to support the following pro-freedom bills currently under consideration.

The 2nd Amendment Protection Act. HB 134 will enhance the common sense safety of worshippers as well as protect the safety of first responders.  The Concealed Carry Permit Lapse/Revise Law HB 49 will ease the burden of renewing concealed carry permits.  The Lifetime Concealed Handgun Permit HB 200 will remove the requirement to renew concealed carry permits every five years.

HB 197 and HB 254 establish Constitutional Carry in the state, greatly reforming safety and Civil Rights for all North Carolinians and allowing us to protect ourselves and our families from criminal violence.  HB 189 preserves the Second Amendment and prohibits the enforcement of certain unconstitutional federal regulations.

Furthering the cause of liberty and civil rights is always in the best interest of everyone, especially when it comes to our safety and security.

I will be monitoring your actions through Grass Roots North Carolina legislative alerts.

Respectfully,
