COUNTY POISED TO
REPEAL RESTRICTIONS

In October 2014, Lee County Commissioners, after listening to no less than fourteen passionate and articulate Lee County patriots, wisely voted to repeal ALL concealed carry restrictions in Lee County parks and county facilities...

Repeal of a Repeal
Following October's repeal, an election took place and a new Democrat-majority county commission was seated. At the swearing-in ceremony, with a peculiar sense of urgency, and before they were even… well… seated, the new majority conducted their first official act: they repealed October’s repeal. This reinstated the county’s anti-gun concealed carry restrictions, restrictions designed to constrain and control the law-abiding citizen and create a safer environment for violent felons.

This Monday’s Commission Meeting
Jump ahead now to 2019: The Board of Commissioners is still a Democrat majority but with a new face or two, and one of the Democrat members has the common sense to recognize the right of the people to bear arms.  With his support, this matter has been placed on the agenda for reexamination at the Board of Commissioner’s next scheduled meeting, this Monday (September 16, 2019).

This is quite refreshing and quite a contrast to the position of national Democrats, many of whom are now openly calling for the repeal of the Second Amendment and the confiscation of your lawfully owned firearms.

Help Lee County Gun Owners
Today we ask you to contact the commissioners and ask them to support the re-repeal of restrictions on lawful concealed carry in Lee County government facilities. You can be a part of history in the making Monday night by adding your voice to the chorus of citizen patriots in Lee County. If successful, Lee County will become the first and the only county in North Carolina to impose restrictions on concealed carry, legislatively wax and wane throughout the years with a leaning toward restricting gun rights, but ultimately yield to common sense, removing all restrictions on lawful concealed carry.

Monday’s vote is expected to be 4-3 and your support of all four who plan to vote in favor of lifting the restrictions is critical. Below, see how you can easily contact Lee County Commissioners to urge all of them to do the right thing, particularly to encourage the commissioners already prepared to vote in favor of human liberty

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED!

Suggested Subject: "Allow Concealed Carry in County Facilities"

Dear Lee County Commissioner:

I have been informed that the Lee County Commission has scheduled a discussion and vote regarding the repeal of restrictions on lawful concealed carry in Lee County buildings. I am writing to express my full support for this position.

A patchwork of  “gun-free zones” serves only to make accidental criminals out of otherwise peaceful, law-abiding citizens while doing nothing to ensure public safety. A vote to open all county facilities to the lawful concealed carry of handguns will express respect for county residents, employees, and visitors to Lee County. It will also send a message quite different than that expressed by national Democrat leaders, some of whom are calling for the repeal the Second Amendment, and the confiscation of lawfully owned firearms.

I understand Lee County briefly approved such a repeal back in 2014, only to reinstate the unnecessary restrictions just two months later. It’s past time to correct this bureaucratic vacillating, to put your trust in the voters, and not in ineffective “no-gun” signs.

Through such a repeal, Lee County will be joining Ashe, Alamance, Cabarrus, Cherokee, Forsyth, Pearson, Pitt, Rockingham, Rowan Stokes, Surry, and Union Counties, along with a long list of municipalities, that have opened their facilities to lawful concealed carry.  Thank you in advance for doing the right thing this Monday evening by voting once again in favor of the proposed changes to Lee County ordinances to allow lawful concealed carry of handguns in Lee County Buildings.

I will continue to monitor this issue through alerts from Grass Roots North Carolina.

Respectfully,
