BATTLE STATIONS!
Without rehashing the gruesome
details, suffice to say that in an election largely driven by the relentlessly
leftist media, the Stupid Party did what it does best, giving the Evil Party an
upcoming opportunity to do what *it* does best…very, very soon.
Beyond congressional losses of
which you have already heard (including Rep. Charles Taylor, R-11), Republicans
have apparently lost 5 seats in the NC House and 2 in the NC Senate including,
unfortunately, gun rights stalwart Sen. Hugh Webster. A more detailed analysis
will follow as information becomes available.
THE BATTLE TO COME
Fortunately, we have made
significant gains in 12 years, including not only state-level achievements such
as the concealed handgun law and enhancements, but also federal reversal of the
“assault weapon” ban and passage of legislation prohibiting abusive lawsuits against
gun makers.
Now we will have to fight a
battle to keep from giving back that ground, or more precisely YOU will have to
fight that battle. Never forget that however effective GRNC has been, it
derives its strength from you. If you quit, we all pay for your surrender.
GRNC volunteers will do their
best to anticipate and defeat gun control proposals to come--gun show
restrictions, semi-auto bans, gun rationing, mental health checks, mandatory
gun tracing, etc.--but make no mistake…
Our success will depend on:

Whether YOU read and respond to GRNC Action Alerts;

Whether YOU raise hell with the General Assembly and Congress;
-
Whether YOU volunteer to help GRNC with its Legislative Action
Team, gun show alert distribution, and more;

Whether YOU dig into your pockets, yet again, to ensure GRNC
has the resources to fight these battles.
WHAT YOU MUST DO NOW

SIGN UP GRNC MEMBERS: The end of the alert contains details of
a sign-up program (GRNC memberships make great Christmas presents, for
example). We ask that you sign up additional members to strengthen the
organization.

VOLUNTEER FOR GRNC EFFORTS: We need volunteers for GRNC’s
Legislative Action Team, for GRNC gun show alert distribution, office
administrative tasks, and people with strong computer skills, among others.

SEND MONEY: Yes, I hate to do it again, but GRNC spent big
bucks on the election effort, and will need big bucks to fight gun control
battles that will undoubtedly be thrust upon us.

the state and federal levels. Both chambers of the U. S. Congress are under
democrat control. In January expect to see Nancy Pelosi (Dem. California) as
Speaker of the House.
In North Carolina democrats have stronger majority of
democrats in both the House and Senate. And due to Jim Black’s (D GRNC 2 star
Mecklenberg County) legal problems it is possible that Rep. Joe Hackney (D GRNC
0 star, Chatham, Orange and Moore
Counties) will replace him.
